ClinWulf is a HIPAA-compliant high performance computing cluster at Stony Brook University dedicated to research involving protected health information (PHI) and sensitive medical data. This secure computing environment features 30 high-performance nodes, including 7 nodes with high memory configurations of 750 GB to 1,000 GB RAM.
The cluster is equipped with 32 GPUs, including 8 NVIDIA A100s, and utilizes both high-bandwidth Ethernet and InfiniBand networking for accelerated data processing. ClinWulf has been upgraded with a new VAST storage system providing over 1.5 PB of space, specifically tuned for HPC data production workloads.
As part of Stony Brook's family of clusters which includes SeaWulf, Ookami, and NVwulf, ClinWulf extends advanced computing resources into clinical and biomedical domains where security and privacy are paramount. Unlike general purpose HPC systems, ClinWulf provides a secure environment that allows researchers to work with protected health information while still benefiting from large-scale computing power.
