About Virtual Machines for Clinical Research

VMs for Clinical Research offer a dedicated environment to prototype code and applications that cannot run on High Performance Computing. Resources are hosted on-premises using VMware technology, in both Linux and Windows configurations.

Key benefits

  • High availability and scalability, with backup options on request
  • System administrator management and support
  • Customizable configurations and flexible resource allocation without reboots
  • Seamless storage upgrades

How to request

  1. Faculty submit a VM request for personal or research group use.
  2. Graduate students and postdocs submit requests through their advisor or PI.
  3. Research Systems Engineering provisions and manages the VM.

Example applications

MATLAB processing of experimental results; DICOM image processing and analysis.
