About DMPTool

DMPTool assists with creating Data Management Plans required by most research funding agencies, with templates matched to specific funder requirements.

How to log in

  1. Visit dmptool.org and select Login.
  2. Enter your Stony Brook email (first.last@stonybrook.edu) and continue.
  3. Choose Sign in with Institution (SSO) using your Stony Brook credentials.

Creating a plan

  • From the dashboard, click Create plan for a default template.
  • Or visit Funder Requirements to select a specific funder's template.
  • For NSF proposals without a specific directorate match, search for "NSF-GEN: Generic".
