About Academic Research Storage
RCI offers centrally managed storage for active research projects working with unrestricted data. Standard allocations of up to 10 TB are available on request with basic justification; larger requests need detailed justification and are typically granted for specified timeframes.
Who can request it
Stony Brook University or Stony Brook Medicine professors, on behalf of their research groups.
How to request
- Open a ticket in the IACS support system and select “Request RPX CIFS Share (RPX ONLY)”.
- Include the amount of storage needed, the duration, and the names and NetIDs of research group members requiring access.
- Once the folder is created, connect using the CIFS access instructions.
