Three steps to start

  1. Learn what the system can do. Watch the video tutorials on the REDCap platform.
  2. Log in and explore. Follow the access instructions to get your account and take a look around.
  3. Talk to us about your project. Schedule a consultation with the REDCap support team to assess fit.
Before you begin: contact the IRB, the HIPAA Privacy Office, and/or the REDCap support team regarding the compliance requirements that apply to your project.

Usage restrictions

  • No clinical operations data. REDCap @ SBM may not be used to collect clinical data supporting clinical operations, regardless of future research plans. Clinical operations data must maintain its chain of custody through the EHR.
  • No third-party hosting. You may not host projects for use by an external facility, except for multisite research studies led by SBU.
Approval required: projects involving clinical operations, or external sites, collaborators, or participants, must obtain prior approval from the REDCap support team to ensure feasibility and compliance.
