Overview
MATLAB ("Matrix Laboratory") is a high-level language and interactive environment for numerical computation, data analysis, algorithm development, and modeling — excelling at matrix and array operations.
Getting started
- Open the OnDemand portal and authenticate with NetID + DUO
- Launch via the MATLAB icon or Interactive Apps → MATLAB (under GUIs)
- Configure: MATLAB version, queue, time limit, cores, and nodes (1 node typically suffices); optional email notification
- Monitor Queued → Starting → Running, then open MATLAB in a new browser tab
Session options
- Adjust compression and image-quality settings for the remote display
- Generate a view-only shareable link letting other SeaWulf account holders observe your session in read-only mode
Working with files
Access and modify scripts from home, scratch, or project directories; use relative paths or mounted directories to structure your workflow.
