After we review your data request, we will classify it as an exploratory study (i.e., using summary data only), hypothesis-driven research, or prospective clinical trial.
While IRB approval is needed for most data requests, an approved IRB protocol typically isn't needed if only summary data is being requested.
A physician and his research team are participating in a consortium studying children aged 11-18 diagnosed with hypertension in the years 2021-2022. They need study-specific de-identified patient data on lab results and specialist referrals. With proper IRB approval, we work with the study team to provide them with the requested data.
