Alejandro Marcos Gil-Gómez

Dr. Alejandro Marcos Gil-Gómez is our new Computational Scientist supporting clinical and translational research at Stony Brook Medicine.

Alejandro brings deep expertise in bioinformatics, biomedical data analysis, AI/ML workflows, and high-performance computing, including secure handling of HIPAA/PHI-regulated datasets. He has extensive experience developing and deploying reproducible pipelines, working in Linux/HPC environments, and supporting large-scale genomic, proteomic, and clinical analyses. He received his Ph.D. from Stony Brook University, where he specialized in advanced computational biology and mentored students in data-intensive research.

In this role, Alejandro will collaborate closely with researchers and clinicians to strengthen the University’s capabilities in secure, scalable computational research and AI-driven biomedical analytics.
